Resolution

In 2011 I want to finish the book I'm working on.

I'm not big on resolutions in general. But I like to make one every year just to give myself something to do. And I never make one unless I'm absolutely positive that I can do it. That's why I've had such a good track record with keeping them. This year's one is a little more difficult than previous years, but I still know I can do this. Just need to not be so lazy.

Yours?

The popular 'lose weight' for me.

But how much weight? And how to accomplish your goal?

I try not to make my resolutions too vague. That way I don't have as many excuses to give myself when I fail to keep them. But maybe I've set the bar too low in the past. Here are some resolutions I've kept:

- Don't quit smoking (later on I broke it, but I kept it for the year)
- Keep a journal
- Write more in my journal than I did the previous year (when I wrote in it 9 times)

Well, I didn't think you wanted me to be more specific. Silly me.

I would like to lose 40 pounds this year. I plan to do it by start working out just 10 minutes a day for January, move it forward to 15 or 20 in February. I also have started eating less, stopping eating not when I'm full but when I'm 'satisfied.' (One helping instead of several, for example.)

We have several workout videos where the trainer/host isn't too peppy/annoying, and we also have our WiiFit and now Wii Dancing, which makes exercise FUN!

I agree, specific goals get specific results. The more clear, the more likely it is to happen.

I wish I worked out now as often as when I was pregnant. I went from every day to nothing. Do TMac's prenatal yoga video as a warm-up to your workout. Shiva is very soothing and Poppy is adorable. But that bitch Britta...

Is there anybody named "Britta" that you don't hate?
