I Write Like

I Write Like by Mémoires, Mac journal software. Analyze your writing!

I pasted several different stories in this thing and got this result most frequently. Other results I got include William Gibson, James Joyce, Kurt Vonnegut, and J.K. Rowling.

Try it, tell me who you write like.

On my Man Hater story I write like Dan Brown. I'll take that.

Wendy, I've never known who to compare your writing to (except for that one story where you try to write like Irving), but if it's possible to be a cross between Nabokov and Dan Brown, that totally works.

Amalie, Vonnegut is one of my heroes, even though he's far from being my favorite writer. The comparison is both fair and flattering.

Austin, interesting. Do you feel you write your prose any differently than you write in your blog?

Jacob,

to answer your question, emphatically yes. My blog I write much more informally, I rarely edit or revise, except occasional grammar. My prose is thought out and has a lot more description and editing before, during and after.

It's only because the story they compared to Nabokov contained several what-you-might-consider dirty words. Not you, I mean other people. I know you don't believe dirty words exist.

I agree with you, but I still try to censor my language to an extent, since I am aware not everyone shares our free thinking re: "dirty words" and shit.

to quote Oscar Wilde (which I do a lot of, granted.):

There is no such thing as an immoral book. A book is either well or poorly written. That is all.

To paraphrase for my own purposes, There is no such thing as a dirty word. A word is either appropriately chosen or poorly chosen.
